Find out whether the brine tank is easy to reach, how often its level should be checked and whether the quoted price includes delivery, installation, setup and removal of old equipment.

Give each bidder the same hardness result and household-use estimate. Ask: What resin volume is included? What is the usable grain capacity at the programmed salt dose? How often should this household regenerate? How much salt and water should one regeneration use? Is the control valve metered? What maintenance can the owner perform? Who provides warranty service, and which labor or travel charges are excluded?
